Preparing for A Cross Connection Control Program Audit

(Course ID: MWWA 24-007)

MassDEP has recently resumed conducting audits of a Public Water System’s Cross Connection Control Program (CCCP). These audits can incorporate a wide range of program components from verifying qualified personnel to documents regarding local ordinances and bylaws. This training will cover the key CCCP components that need to be tracked as well as an overview of helpful tracking tools. Tips on how to be prepared for an audit will cover everything from initial audit notification to recommendations on ways to organize all documents to help ensure that the audit goes smoothly. The training will also provide some information on new equipment and devices that have entered the industry such as trap primers, automated chemical dispensers and garbage disposals.

Learning Objectives:

  • Review the components of a MassDEP CCCP audit.
  • Learn about the best ways to track the CCCP program and prepare for an audit.
  • Discuss new equipment and devices encountered in the field and suggested approaches for ensuring protection
 This course is approved for 2.0 TCHs (Training Contact Hours) for Massachusetts Water Operators. It will be taught using the Zoom platform. Participants will need to have a reliable highspeed internet connection and computer device with both video and audio capability.
