ASBESTOS-CEMENT PIPE WORKER SAFETY

 *IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING THIS COURSE: 

This recertification course is ONLY available to those who have previously taken the 8-hour certification course in the last 5 years and hold a valid "Asbestos-Cement Pipe Worker Safety" certificate.


 This course reintroduces the topics covered within the initial 8-hour certification; certification must be renewed every 5 years. This class will provide an understanding of:  

  • Types and uses of asbestos and identification of the material
  • The nature of asbestos-related diseases and routes of exposure
  • Review of applicable federal and state regulations regarding asbestos.
  • Review of the updates made to MassDEP’s AC Pipe Guidance Document
  • Proper AC Pipe Work Practices including final visual inspection and waste disposal procedures and related reporting forms

Attendees must successfully pass a multiple choice exam to receive certification.  This course is approved for 3.0 TCHs (Training Contact Hours) for Massachusetts water and RI Drinking Water Operators. CANCELLATION & ATTENDANCE POLICY: No Shows or Cancellations with less than 7 days notice will be charged a $75 cancellation fee.  Participants must attend 90% of the program and complete a session evaluation form to be eligible for TCHs and Asbestos Certification.  TCHs and Certification will not be issued until full payment is received.

  • This course has been approved by the Mass. Dept. of Labor Standards to satisfy the 5 year AC Pipe Worker Safety recertification requirements.

  • AC Pipe certificates as well as Training Contact Hour certificates (3 TCHs) will be mailed to all students that participate in the entire remote session and successfully complete the 25 question exam at the end of the class.
