Concepts and Practices of Drinking Water Distribution Sept. 17 – Dec. 10, 2019 (12 weeks) Tuesdays, 8:30 AM - 12:00 PM (No Class on November 26th) Northampton Water Treatment Plant 137 Mountain Rd., Haydenville, MA 01039 Course Description This course has been designed to introduce the general concepts of drinking water distribution operations leading to certification as a D2, D3, or D4 operator, or operator in training. Basic math skills are necessary for this course. The primary text needed for the course will be the Sacramento State's 7th Edition of Water Distribution System Operation and Maintenance. The course is divided into separate modules and will be presented in (12) 3 hour, 30 minute classes. Some Modules will take more than a single class to complete, others will take less. At the conclusion of each module students will be given homework to complete. The homework shall be completed at home and returned to the instructor prior to the following class, they will then be discussed before moving on to the next Module. There will be a “midterm” exam during the 7th class and a “final exam” at the last class. “Successful Completion” of the course will be determined by a combination of the following: Attendance: 12 points (must attend a minimum of 10 classes per Board of Certification) Homework: 23 points Mid Term: possible 30 points Final Exam: possible 35 points Must have a minimum of 70 points (total) to “pass” Students can receive up to 37.0 Training Contact Hours (TCHs) Withdrawals and Refunds To register for the course click: 2019 9-17-19, Distribution, Northampton Please click here to view the course brochure. |
