How to Properly Collect & Report Turbidity & CT Data 

(Course ID: MWWA 22-008)

This course is intended to provide operators of surface water supplies an understanding of the turbidity and disinfection requirements of the Surface Water Treatment Rule (SWTR). Often, water treatment plants are designed to automatically record and calculate the regulatory reporting requirements. However, not understanding the concepts can result in critical reporting errors, microbial risks to the consumers and potential violations. Proper operation and maintenance of instruments will also be covered. The Worcester WTP will be used as a case study for how the SWTR data is collected and reported.

 Learning Objectives:

•• Review the history and chemistry of chlorination;
•• Learn how to measure chlorine residual;
•• Understand the regulatory requirements of chlorination.

 This course is approved for 5.0 TCHs (Training Contact Hours) for Massachusetts Water Operators, as well as for Rhode Island Water Operators. Live in-person class!
