For Grade T2
This is a 12-week state-approved course that is being taught live in-person at the Chelmsford Water District . The course is designed to provide students with the general concepts of d rinking water treatment processes . Taking and passing this course is a pre requisite for taking the Massachusetts Grade 2 Drinking Water Operator Trea tment License Exam.
Participants will meet for 3 ½ hours each week to learn the following concepts: source water protection & management, hy drology, basic math and chemistry, regulations, water sampling & analys is, hydraulics, treatment processes, equipment operation and maintenance, s afety, and administrative duties. (Note: basic math knowledge is required f or this course. Individuals not comfortable with math concepts should consi der taking a math course before taking this course.)
Upon successful completion of this course a “Certificate of Completion” will be issued alon g with a Certificate for up to 37 Training Contact Hours (TCH). Successful completion requires achieving a total course score of 70 points through a c ombination of attendance (must attend minimum of 10 classes), weekly writte n homework assignments, midterm exam and final exam. (Note: Certificates wi ll only be issued when full payment has been received).
