OSHA Requirements - What MA Utilities Need to Know
Effective February 1, 2019 MA General Law (Chapter 146, § 6) requires that all Massachusetts public empl oyees to follow federal OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Act) safety re gulations. Compliance with these requirements is overseen by the MA Dept. of Labor Standards (DLS).
This full day class is an awareness training will present a general overview of the important utility safety i ssues and will include presentations and equipment demonstrations by Tiger Training of Marshfield, MA. There will be a hands on component in the afte rnoon and attendees are encouraged to bring PPE equipment that they own, su ch as respirators and air monitoring equipment.
Learning Objectives:
This course is approved for 6.0 TCHs (Training Contact Hours) for MA Water and Wastewater Operators. A pproval is pending for Rhode Island Water Operators.
