Hydrants have come a long way from the 17th cen tury wooden ‘fire plugs’ to the modern hydrants that can remotely monitor w ater pressure and temperature. This seminar will be presented by Brett John son of Clow Valve Company. The session will provide an overview of evolutio n of fire hydrants, the different types of hydrants and their common operat ing components. Important information on the proper installation, maintena nce and repair will also be covered. This course is a valuable primer for new distribution operators as well as a good refresher for those already fa miliar with hydrants.
