Review of Advanced Water Distribution Concepts
(Zoom)
For Grades D3 & D4 Exams
This 4-week course presents topics that help prepare individuals for the Grade 3 and 4 Distribution exams. This is done through a series of classroom instruction, weekly homework assignments, and a 25-question practice exam on the final week of the course. The course includes in-depth discussions on regulations, equipment troubleshooting, administrative duties and practice with complex math problems for calculations in areas such as hydraulics, thrust block design, and budgeting. Students receive a student binder that contains the instructional PowerPoint slides and the weekly homework assignments. No textbook is required for this course, but it is strongly recommended that students have access to a reference textbook such as the Sacramento State, “Water Distribution System Operation and Maintenance Manual” or the AWWA “Water Distribution” Manual (Grades 3 & 4).
[Note: This course is not the 12-week “Concepts & Practices of Drinking Water Distribution” prerequisite course that is required by the MA Board of Certification prior to taking the D2/D3/D4 exam(s)].
