The Who, What, When, Where, Why & How of Water Restrictions in MA

 (MWWA Course ID#: MWWA 23-003)

This training will provide an overview of the Water Management Act and the differences between 'registered' and 'permitted' source water withdrawals.  Important information about what triggers a utility's need to institute water restrictions and how they must be implemented will be provided.  Attendees will hear insights from several MA utilities that have implemented water restrictions.  They will share their tips on such things as, reasoning for imposing conditions, impact on operations and revenue, customer notification, enforcement and keys to success.

 Learning Objectives:

 Review key components of the Water Management Act;
 Discuss what triggers water restrictions and how they must be enacted;
 Learn from utilities across the state that have implemented restrictions and their insights for success.

 This course is approved for 2.5 TCHs (Training Contact Hours) for Massachusetts Water Operators.
