MWWA EDUCATION SEMINAR

Chemical Feed Pumps 

Course ID # MWWA 03-002

The Massachusetts Water Works Association is offering a seminar on chemical feed pumps which are an integral component of water works facilities.  This course will provide an overview of MassDEP’s regulatory requirements regarding chemical feed pumps.  It will also provide valuable insight in the selection, installation, operation, routine maintenance, and basic repair of the most common types of chemical feed pumps. 

Upon completion, the participant will:

  • Be aware of MassDEP’s requirements for controls and alarms for critical chemical feed systems
  • Be informed of the different types of chemical feeds pumps and how each type is designed and operates
  • Be able to calculate dosage ratios
  • Identify viscosity, temperature and specific gravity and their effect on metering pumps
  • Be able to calibrate metering pumps and create pump curves
  • Be able to properly troubleshoot and conduct routine maintenance on metering pumps

Attendees completing this seminar will be awarded 3.0 TCHs (Training Contact Hours).
