Lead & Copper Sampling:
Do This, Not That! (MWWA Course ID#: MWWA 21-007)It has been nearly 30 years since the implementation of the Lead and Copper Rule (LCR). Some aspects of the LCR have remained the same while others have changed. New proposed changes are on the horizon. One thing that hasn’t changed is the requirement to collect 1-liter samples from within residential locations. The coordination of the residential sampling, the importance of proper sample collection and the reporting requirements are the most complicated of the EPA Rules. This half day class will provide attendees with an overview of the current rule and the proposed changes. It will also include valuable tips on coordinating residential sampling and sampling techniques as well as the proper reporting and notification requirements.
Learning Objectives: •• Review the current Lead and Copper Rule and the proposed changes;•• Discuss tips on coordinating residential sampling and proper sampling methods; •• Learn how to report the results and conduct customer notifications. This course is approved for 2 TCHs (Training Contact Hours) for Massachusetts and Rhode Island Water Operators. It will be taught using the Zoom platform. Participants will need to have a reliable highspeed internet connection and computer device with both video and audio capability.
