 Understanding MA Water Loss Reporting

 (MWWA Course ID#: MWWA 21-002)

Join us for a review of reporting Water Management Act components in your Annual Statistical Report, focusing on Confidently Estimated Municipal Use (CEMU) and Residential Gallons per Capita Day (RGPCD) reporting. The discussions will cover what can be reported, backup documentation requirements, how to load those documents, and how to perform a quick data check on your ASR submittal. The industry is moving away from the term “Unaccounted for Water” and toward the concept of Water Loss Control. American Water Works Association’s M36 WATER AUDITS AND LOSS CONTROL PROGRAMS is the gold standard that water utilities should be moving toward. Learn more about the M36 audit process and its outcomes and hear from MA utilities about how they approach ASR preparation and their experience with moving toward the M36 audit.

 Learning Objectives:

Understand what documentation MassDEP expects when submitting the ASR, especially as it relates to
documentation for “Confidently Estimated Municipal Use”
Learn how to properly upload documents to eDEP
Understand the components of a M36 Audit
Learn from two utilities about their approach to ASR preparation and conducting an M36 Audit
